The Nécropole nationale de Notre-Dame-de-Lorette is a memory place inescapable of the WWI.
During your moment of contemplation, you can find the Notre-Dame-de-Lorette’s chapel, the tour-lanterne and a cemetery ten thousand soldiers rest in peace.Near sacred buildings, “l’anneau de la mémoire” (the ring of memory), inaugurated for the WWI centennial, it reminds everyone the importance of duty to remember, with 580 000 names of soldiers, of 40 different nationality etched inside.
A few steps away from this place, you will find the “Centre d’histoire du Mémorial 14-18” where you can discover highlights which took place in the French Flanders and Artois more than 100 years ago.
