Expériences & Activités - Lille Nord

Lille is an important city in the north of France. The capital city of the Flanders is internationally known for its flea market where more than 2 million people go each year, to “chiner” in the streets of Lille. But this city, is more than that, it’s a lovely city which has a lot to offer to the people who take time to visit and it has enough for everyone. Lille blends architecture, gastronomic heritage, culture and more!

First step, the Grand Place which adorns in the middle, the famous column of the goddess with nearby: “la vieille bourse” on one side, “the theatre of the north” where to each side the streets go towards the different areas of this beautiful city. Little tip: take a break on a terrace of a bar and look at the building and this typical architecture.

It’s the time to restart the visit. Go in the small streets of the Vieux-Lille, a historic neighbourhood of the city where you can shop or find an estaminet (a typical Flemish restaurant) to share a meal with your friends. During your walk in the Vieux-Lille, take the “passage des Weppes”, which leads you directly to the forecourt of the cathedral of Notre-Dame-de-la-Treille. Here, you have stop to taste a local beer outside, if the sun is out.

For the culture and art, Lille has a lot of museums. Now let’s go to the “Place de la République”, at the Palais des Beaux Arts, to visit this beautiful institution with impressive collections.

For the fashionistas, let’s head towars the Euralille area where a large building shaped like a boat is in fact a mall: Westfield Euralille.
